How is CPP Calculated

CPP is a measure of how much redemption value you get when redeeming for flights. Generally, you use this when transferring points to airlines or booking through a portal.

To calculate CPP, you take the cash price of the flight and subtract the taxes and fees. Then you divide that by the number of points spent.

Since airlines are not able to pay for airport taxes and fees with points, you will need to pay for them with cash. This is why you subtract them from the cash price.

Credit card points are a great way to earn value for the money that you already spend. By transfering these points to partner airlines, you can multiply your points per dollar by a factor of 2-3x on average!
